farm-sourced materials
The house is hand-crafted from local wood, volcanic rock and bamboo grown right here on the farm. The furniture is all made on-island too! It has a fabulous, private deck with room for a few friends and a few beers.
Convenient
It faces west, towards Conception, and is located just 15 minutes outside of Balgue and 10 minutes from the trailhead to Maderas lagoon; this is a convenient and remote setting.
Chilamate tree
Its namesake, the fig tree, frames the house from the private parking and exclusive entry-way to the house with private parking (4x4 recommended). The monkey’s love hanging out in the tree’s branches for their afternoon nap.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it.
The elevated casita we stayed in was enveloped by plantain and coconut trees and looked out over a lush jungle landscape.
The room was super comfortable and had windows on 3 sides that let in a constant breeze which made for comfortable sleeping at night and really let you feel connected to the beautiful surroundings.
It also had a wraparound deck with two chairs and a hammock for relaxing outside. We loved waking up to the sounds of the tropical birds. ”
